Troubleshooting tips for Echo Glow 80 and 160 hoops

If your hoop doesn't turn on / the battery doesn't last very long

  • Ensure your battery is fully charged, plug the USB charger into a mains USB charger - not a computer/laptop as they will not put out enough power to charge this battery - and allow to charge for at least 2 hours
  • Make sure the battery is correctly seated inside the hoop and that the cable isn't damaged
  • Make sure the remote battery is inserted correctly and has charge, the RED led on the top should light up when you press a button
  • Try and set your hoop to white LEDs only (by pressing the W button on the remote), if the hoop won't stay on white and instead starts changing modes, this is a low battery indicator

If your hoop is stuck on one colour

  • If it is stuck in white or red only, this means low power. After a full charge it will become normal.
  • If it is stuck in any color, including rainbow, and cannot change to single color then it may be the screws are tightened too deep inside and are affecting the circuit board.
  • Try to loosen the 4 screws a little bit. If it still does not work this means the circuit board is dead.

If your White Colour is turning yellow at one end

if you find that your hoop's LEDs are shifting to yellow at one end while in the solid colour white mode, press the "speed -" button a few times, this will change the frequency of the LEDs until they all match. if you press "speed -" more, the brightness will lower, so use the "speed +" button to find the right level for you.

If the battery gets stuck

Sometimes the batteries can get stuck because the tubing is slightly misshapen, this can happen when the hoop is left in its collapsed state for long periods of time.
To remove the battery, you can gently flex the tube to straighten it with your hands temporarily, the battery should drop back out smoothly.

If your remote is not working

This can be down to a few things:

  • Check that the plastic tab has been removed from the battery enclosure.
  • Replace the battery in the remote with a fresh CR2025.
  • Check that when a button is pressed, the small red LED at the top is lighting up.
  • If these haven't fixed it, and the LED is lighting, the remote may be on a slightly different frequency to the hoop, contact the vendor you purchased the hoop from and they can provide a new remote.

If your hoop is only lighting up part way

This can sometimes be because the hoop has been configured incorrectly at creation. To Fix this:

  • plug the hoop battery in, and then turn the hoop OFF using the remote control power button
  • press and hold the MENU | AUTO button for 3 seconds to change the hoop into the pixel edit mode
  • to adjust the number of LEDs one by one, use MODE + and MODE - buttons. to adjust them 32 at a time, use the SPEED + and SPEED - buttons.
  • once you're happy with the number, exit the edit mode by pressing the power button again.

If none of the above work, please make a note of how the hoop is faulty (stuck on one colour, remote not responding, won't hold charge/only works for short amount of time) and provide photos where relevant, before contacting either echo hoops or the place you bought it.

Troubleshooting tips and usage info for Echo Glow 24 hoops

Installing your batteries

  • These hoops are packaged for shipping without the batteries installed, so they don't drain in transit. Once you have received your hoop, use the metal push button to open it up to full size.
while the hoop is open, insert both of the echo cell rechargeable batteries negative (flat) end first, into the hoop tube.
Now close the hoop, and when you click the button into the second hole, the batteries will make contact and your hoop will light up.
  • To charge your batteries, you can open up the hoop and place them back into the usb charger provided
